It was so wonderful to be a part of such a fun event. The people who I met from Splendid, Anna Bond (Rifle Paper Co.) and Lauren Bradshaw (Walnut Animal Society) were all delightful. Not to mention everyone I loved meeting and chatting with as I calligraphed their envelopes!
Check out more of the beautiful photos on Splendid’s website!

Posted: December 20, 2012 Filed under: A few of my favorite things... | Tags: Beauty, Cosmetics, Health, Manicure, Nail Care, nailpolish, Seche Vite, Shopping, style, topcoat Leave a commentFor all of you last minute gift buyers – or someone who needs a little shine in their day – this little top coat is a MUST!!!
I think that if I kept this little bottle of goodness to myself I would be committing some sort of mortal sin. Seche Vite is the best topcoat I have ever used. That is a big claim, I know, but it’s true.
Seche Vite quickly seals my nail polish on my nails with an intense wet shine that I absolutely love! Trust me, as an artist who works with my hands, I fight to keep nail polish from chipping. (Ask my husband… he hates it!)
If you’re up for trying something new, or need a fantastic stocking stuffer, look no further!

It’s that magical time of year when elves are busy in the toy shop, children are surprisingly well behaved and reindeer fly. This season create some magic with a personalized letter to a special child, or adult, from the desk of Kris Kringle!
Santa Letters are back and better than ever!
This year, send a personalized letter from the desk of Kris Kringle to that special person in your life, young or old!
You can encourage Lily to “eat her broccoli” or your husband to buy that purse you have been admiring! There is even a space that I will calligraph… eh-hem, I mean Santa, will tell about Rudolph’s favorite snack…which is up to you to decide!
Each Santa Letter is hand calligraphed and comes in a green envelope with a red and white candy cane liner. The recipients name is calligraphed in a whimsical white ink on the front of the envelope. At the top of each letter, a hand drawn Rudolph is on proud display. Rudolph has a beautiful Christmas red Swarovski crystal adorning his nose, along with some magical silver accents.
After all, if Rudolph can’t light the way, we’re all in trouble!
Hurry and place your order before midnight on December 16th! After December 16th Santa will be too busy finalizing his naughty and nice list to write any more letters. So make sure you get your orders in on time.
**Supplies are limited.**
To order your Santa Letters, please visit my website and click on the “santa letters” tab on the menu bar to download your order form.
Santa Letters are $13 each or 3 for $35.
Shipping and Handling is $2 a letter for First Class mail.
**$1 of each Santa Letter purchased will be donated to Operation Christmas Child with Samaritan’s Purse, helping less fortunate children all around the world celebrate Christmas.**
Thank you in advance for your support!
I will be hosting a Santa Letter give away on my facebook page! ‘Like’ me, and stay tuned!
IAMPETH: Day 4
Posted: August 10, 2012 Filed under: Calligraphy, IAMPETH 2012 | Tags: calligraphy, gestures, IAMPETH, Milwaukee, Milwaukee Public Market, Pointed Pen, Rainy day, Shopping, Trader Joes, Wisconsin 3 CommentsIt’s official… I drink too much coffee… I have had about five cups today. Don’t tell anyone… But I’m still drinking coffee at 9 pm.
Today I attended Gestures of the Pen with Barbara Close.
I’m not going to lie, this class made me a little uncomfortable at first. Why? Because the class was all about being free and expressing yourself with your pen.
Let’s get one thing straight. I mainly do copperplate calligraphy. Copperplate is structured, orderly and not spontaneous. This class stretched me to loosen up and have fun… And for that, I am thankful!
Some samples from my play…
Though this image isn’t suppose to be legible, it is a verse from the Bible: Jeremiah 29:11. (Check it out if you don’t know it!)
Even though it was pouring today, it was so much fun walking around the city with Jennifer and Cheryl!
Do you ever wonder who creates the fonts? Stephen Rapp does. Stephen is a fontographer (say that five times fast). Tonight he presented on how to create fonts and shared samples of his work. One company that uses his fonts: Trader Joes. Pretty Sweet.
Alright I’m off to meet up with some calligraphers for a critique and to work on my letter forms…. Until tomorrow!
