Etiquette 107Posted: June 21, 2013
I have never talked to a client who didn’t care about getting their invitations out in a timely way. After all, getting your invitations out for your special event can be the biggest relief in the entire planning process (trust me, I know!). Thankfully, you don’t have to guess when to mail out your invitations, etiquette has that covered.
When should I send out my wedding invitations?
If you have not sent out save the dates, your invitations should be sent out 6-8 weeks before your wedding.
If you have sent out save the dates, your invitations should be sent out 4-6 weeks before your wedding.
Obviously, etiquette is in place to make you and your guests feel comfortable. If you have a lot of guests, for example, flying in from out of the country and want to mail out your invitations sooner than later, that is perfectly fine. Etiquette is not a stick in the mud, but a gracious guideline.
I am throwing a party, when should those invitations be sent out?
You send out a party invitation four weeks before the event.
