Etiquette 102

“How do I address a couple that is married but have different last names?”

In addressing envelopes, according to etiquette, ‘and’ is the wedding ring on the paper.

Etiquette states that the woman’s name always goes on the first line of an envelope. After the woman’s name an ‘and’ signifies that she is married to the person on the second line. On the second line, her spouses name is written. If there is not an ‘and’ after the woman’s name, the couple is not married but living together.
